There are seasons when we have to look a little harder for pockets of joy, while other seasons require us to create our own. This season is a hellish one for so many of us and so I’m pausing for a mid-month Nota Bene (Good Note) to share a few
Sit right here with me for a minute as we take in a little joy to center us:
One-
Our lovely, precious Elenor turned eight recently! She is such a gift, and everyone who knows her adores her! We are so thankful for her!

Two-
It is strawberry season, and summer fruit is just one of the greatest gifts, isn’t it? Not only are they delicious, but the health benefits add to their perfection!

Three-
Chw and I saw this movie, and it was exactly the kind of beauty we needed for this life season. While we were both choked up, it brought so much inspiration and healing. Being based on a true story only brought us more joy. Grab a snack, grab your tissues, and curl up to watch Bob Trevino Likes It!
Four-
It’s finally out, so I’m able to share that Chw and I went to a screening of Dreamworks’ new live-action film, How To Train Your Dragon, and we LOVED it! While we both love the animated movies and are equally against the Mouse House’s live-action remakes, I committed to this film very hesitantly. In fact, I settled into that luxury recliner, pretty sure the best this movie would get from me was a “it was better than I expected” reaction. We weren’t ten minutes in before I realized this was GOLD.
If you’re anything like me and don’t love this live-action remake trend, while also loving animated originals, please don’t lump this into that same category! The heart of what makes HTTYD both a beautiful story and, a relevant one, is still so present. Everyone we talked to, post screening, loved it more than the original AND felt it took none of the magic away from it–Chw and I included.

Five-
You! My readers, both here and of my memoir. You keep me moving forward and bring me so much joy! Thank you for being here and traveling alongside of me through this journey!
Now it’s your turn, my love. Feel free to reply to this note or leave a comment, but do share: What’s bringing you joy?
